Up North Michigan And Other Favorite Family Traditions

While I’m in Kenya the rest of this month, wanted to share a few things – check it out!

I spent 7 days over the 4th of July week up north, just above Traverse City in the Leelanau Peninsula. Me and my family spent time on Grand Traverse Bay, Lake Leelanau a whole lot and all around the towns in the area. I really unplugged.

I even yes slowed down enough to play UNO on a rainy day.

I didn’t respond to a single email and I really didn’t respond to many texts… I just spent time with Jesus (TWJ), worked out a lot (probably put in 25-30 miles running total over the week), spent great time with my children, grandchildren, wife (lots of great time on the water), did some reading about the history of the Northern Lower Peninsula and but kind of just disengaged to reengage with God, myself and my family.

I walked away realizing again what’s most important in life: faith (relationship with Jesus), family (creating memories and fun (boating, running, eating, Moomers Ice Cream and the list goes on). Abandoning annually to recharge: it’s really a good thing!

By the way, God spoke very clearly about me about some things personally, professionally and directionally for the future which I look forward to continuing to process and share….
